Movie thread

It looks good, I may go see it tonight, actually. I doubt, but I could if I wanted.

Since I had surgery, I haven't been able to go see anything new. Not like anything good came out...

Last movie I saw at the cinema was the new Harry Potter and that was some time ago already : D I'm really looking for Avatar.

i saw 2012 yesterday. it sucked, as expected, but it was amusing at least. tbh i think avatar looks like.. atlantis gone live-action. isn't it like the EXACT same story? xD
aaand i'm seeing zombieland again tomorrow, for the third time xD i love that movie xD

There was no war in Atlantis?

Zombieland was fantastic. There's a sequel in being talk about, however they are thinking of making it IN 3-D!!! I hope not...

Bill Murray's cameo in that film is amazing.

I watched Surrogates last night, and it was much worse than it promised to be from the first 5 minutes. It quickly devolved into Hollywood logic ("We must stop this virus before it uploads!" "Pull the plug." "No, here's a nonsensical reason why that won't work.") But the first 10 minutes are really cool sci-fi.

I DON'T GET WHY EVERYONE LOVES AVATAR!

Holy crap! Like seriously. It's as though the entire world has gone crazy. How can any single movie made by the guy who made Terminator be as good as people are saying this is? I saw the trailer for the first time when I went to see Ninja Assassin (sucked), and I was completely underwhelmed. I literally knew nothing about the movie before that, and now that I do, I'm just like... meh.

I just don't get it.

It didn't take ten years to make. He wrote it ten years ago, and stashed it away until he had the technology to make it.

The other night on Jon Stewert they described why it was ground-breaking. Something about they have new motion-capture device that captures every movement of the actor, and that's how the blue things look so life-like.

@Josh: That's why I want to see it, because of the hype. I wanna see if it is worth of it. I'm pretty sceptical about it as well. That's why I asked is it any good : D

I honestly thing James Cameron gave half the people in Hollywood like $100 to just hype the movie.

And as for Ninja Assassin... the gratuitous violence is great, and Rain is a surprisingly effective action star, but the plot is unfulfilling, the writing is shit, and I didn't care for any of the characters. Fun to watch, considering, though.

as long as rain is good and there's plenty fanservice i don't really care about the rest xD

All I have to say in this area right now is, Lao and I wasted 118 minutes of our LIVES watching GI Joe- I KNOW, I hate to admit it, but, we did. Do yourself a favor. DO NOT WATCH THAT MOVIE. lol

gi joe just looked horrible. I dont even want to specify why it looked horrible. It was just a movie trying to ride on transformers popularity by taking an old series of cartoons/action figures and making them hip.

But Christopher Eccleston and Jason Gordon Levitt were in that movie! How could it possibly have gone wrong?! Were those two good, at least?

It was, it was the most horrible movie EVER, and I thought Twilight held that title, no this one does lol.

To keep it short, Levitt was incredible in the movie, that dude is like 22-24 years old and I won't spoil it for anyone, let's just say it shows a lot of range in character.

Speaking of Movies...did anyone hear about Brittany Murphy dieing, I dunno if anyone is a fan here, but I loved her. Kinda sad, she was only 32!

Yeah I heard about it... it's sad that so many great actors die... although, I wasn't a fan of Murphy.

And I'm probably going to see Avatar tomorrow or Tuesday... I'll give you my opinion after that.

Just saw avatar......It was pretty boring. The special effects were awesome,but the story was sooooo predictable. The trailers are about as entertaining as the movie.

I absolutely loved this movie, I mean i almost cried at some of the ending scenes.
Actually the only reason I didnt.. was because my gf was there.. :P

The love in the movie that they showed was.. just astounding to me, i couldnt get enough of it. :]

all im going to say about avatar now is that the whole reason they were on the planet was called unobtainium and they never even specified what it was for.
